Bassani to KRT, Rinaldi to Honda – what’s the latest WorldSBK rider market news?

The factory Kawasaki ride alongside Alex Lowes, previously held by Jonathan Rea, is still vacant as Rea has moved to Yamaha. Axel Bassani is set to replace Rea and fulfill his dream of a factory seat at the most successful team in Superbike history. This raises the question of what will happen to Michael Ruben Rinaldi, who may remain with Ducati if Bassani leaves Motocorsa, or could potentially join Team HRC. Xavi Vierge and Iker Lecuona have contracts for the 2024 season, but if Lecuona moves back to MotoGP with LCR, Rinaldi would be a strong contender for his seat. Honda has not yet confirmed their riders for the 2024 season, making them the only factory team without confirmed riders. Toprak Razgatlioglu is secured at BMW, while Michael Van Der Mark is expected to stay and Scott Redding will likely join Bonovo Action BMW alongside Garrett Gerloff.
